Dear Christian Parents,

Does it seem like yesterday your child was an infant in arms, totally dependent on you for everything in life - food, shelter, clothes, love and guidance? Today that same child may not be an infant in arms, but that same nurturing and guidance is needed in their life.

As children GROW, they are always in need of Support and Love - our parenting does not end at the school door, or the high school graduation, but it is a life-long adventure. What an awesome responsibility God has given us as parents - to help our children to grow into productive Christian adults, and witnesses for our Lord. In the context of this theme, we whole-heartedly place our trust and responsibility, as fellow parents and as a Christian school.

Our theme for this school year is Growing Up in The Lord, and it is exciting to know that between school and home, we collectively can help children grow up in the Lord.
We should ask questions, and seek out the answers. Too many times in life, however, all of us seek answers in the wrong places.
We are all encouraged to grow in the knowledge of our Lord. We should ask questions, and seek out the answers. Too many times in life, however, all of us seek answers in the wrong places.

Our students will ask many questions, and we are blessed to have a school that has the opportunity and ability to seek out the answers in the right place - the Bible itself. Textbooks can answer the factual questions, but the Bible can answer the heart-questions - it helps Christians GROW UP IN THE LORD. We have a school that spends a lot of time answering many questions that our children ask. We help guide their spiritual journey and answer their questions and concerns along the way through a Christian lens. Christ is truly the leader of our school, and the Bible is our guiding curriculum that answers many of life's questions along the way.

We have a rich tradition of excellence in Christian education, we are never done growing in quality, programs, and climate that will lead our families and young ones to an even closer walk with their Lord. It is my prayer that each of our families will continue GROWING UP IN THE LORD, this year as we each make use of the opportunities for worship, Bible study, Communion, and reflection that God presents us with.

If each of us commits to this type of growth, it's no telling how the Lord will bless all of us working together at St. John Lutheran School. Have a Blessed Year as you continue GROWING UP IN THE LORD.

In the Master Teacher's Name,
Sharon R. Forst
